starting and ending at Yucca Dune. These rides emphasize the natural
beauty and ecological diversity of the area, just outside the city

Cowboy Trail |
This 250 mile trail bends South at its mid-way point in front of
Yucca Dune. Several rides use The Trail, and Yucca Dune provides

The "North refuge" as it is called locally, is an area of unique
ecology and wildlife - plains bison, longhorn, pronghorn antelope,
and elk. The trails lead you through them all. |

by service trails that are ideal for mountain bikers. |

Just 26 miles South of
Valentine, Merritt Reservoir provides on- and off-road cycling
opportunities alongside a large, primative, fresh-water
reservoir whose beaches and breezes invite sailing dinghies and light
sailing cruisers. |

East of Valentine and along the Niobrara River, this park offers
handicap access up to the base of Nebraska's tallest waterfall.
In addition, secondary roads provide access for walkers and mountain
bikes to the scenic canyon. |
