The Light Wing was designed for technical climbing on the world’s greatest faces. Its balance is superb and the swing natural enough to do all day (and night) long. The modular head is hot-forged from ChroMoly steel and features an internal tongue-in-groove mechanism to lock both pick and adze (or hammer) into place. The clearance curve allows one to reach over bulges without levering the pick out of the ice but it isn’t radical enough to prevent hammering pitons. There is no rubber insulation on the shaft, which is straight enough to be easily driven into hard snow. Two pick options are available: the Goulottes T-rated pick, specifically designed for strength and durability or the Evolution B-rated pick, which is thinned down to improve penetration into dense, hard ice. Light Wing is delivered with the Easy G leash and with the Horn, a detachable pommel that allows the tool to be used without a leash.
